DANISH PLUGS - DENMARK

What types of Danish plug are there?

The standard Danish 3 pin plug is rated at 16 Amps. A variant for data circuits has rectangular instead of round pins, which fits into both data and non-data sockets. For medical equipment there is a variant with one rectangular and one round pin. Denmark also accepts the 2 pin CEE7/16 Europlug.

What approvals does a Danish plug or powercord have?

DEMKO Afsnit 107-2-D1 is the standard to which standard plugs are manufactured, and DEMKO or (D) is the approval body. The normal Danish plug is listed under DK-2-1a, the data variant DK-2-5a, and the medical variant DK-2-8a.

Where is the Danish plug used?

The Danish plug is exclusive to Denmark and its dependencies, including Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
